• This course provides knowledge about how children percieve science, the nature of science and how children learn science. It explores the nature of science, how children learn science, understanding children's developement, Burner's learning theory, Behaviourist learning theory, Ausubel's learning theory, Gagne's learning theory, Information-processing theory Atkin's, Shiffrin and Baddeley's, Constructivism as the dominant contemporary perspective on science learning, the constructivist approaches, what do children need to help them learn through constructivism, understanding children's ideas in science, assessing children's ideas and misconceptions in science, dealing with children's misconceptions and conceptual change.
